Abstinence Tracker

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Abstinence Tracker: Day Count?

Abstinence Tracker is a private, encouraging day counter designed to help you track an abstinence or celibacy commitment. It includes streak tracking, daily check-ins, milestones, personal rewards, progress insights, reminders, and achievement sharing.

What types of commitments can I track?

You can track commitments related to sex, pornography, masturbation, dating, alcohol, or a custom category you create yourself.

How does the day counter work?

Choose your starting date and goal during setup. The app calculates your current streak and displays how many days you have maintained your commitment.

Can I choose my own goal?

Yes. You can select a preset goal or create a custom goal that fits your personal journey. You can also choose an indefinite commitment.

What happens when I reach a milestone?

You will unlock a milestone reward and receive a celebration screen with confetti. You can also assign a private personal reward to milestones and share an achievement image if you choose.

What are daily check-ins?

Daily check-ins let you record how you are feeling, whether you experienced an urge, and an optional private note about what helped you. You can complete multiple check-ins per day.

How are multiple check-ins used in my insights?

If you complete several check-ins on the same day, the app calculates a daily average for your mood and urge levels. This prevents one active day from having too much influence on your overall trends.

Is my tracker information private?

Your tracker history is stored locally on your device. This includes your streak, check-ins, private notes, goals, rewards, and settings.

Is my tracker history stored in Firebase?

No. Firebase is used for account authentication, app security, analytics, and notification-related device registration. Your personal tracker history remains stored locally on your device.

Will my data automatically appear on a new device?

No. Signing into the same account on another device does not automatically transfer your tracker history. The new device will begin with an empty local tracker profile.

How do I transfer my data to another device?

Export a backup from the Privacy & Data section of the app’s settings. Move the backup file to your new device and select Restore Backup. Restoring a backup replaces the tracker data currently stored on that device.

Do I need an account?

An account allows you to authenticate securely using supported sign-in methods. However, your tracker information remains local to the device rather than being automatically synchronized through the account.

Which sign-in methods are supported?

The app supports available account options such as Google and Sign in with Apple. The options shown may depend on your device and operating system.

Can I use the app on both iPhone and Android?

Yes. Abstinence Tracker is designed for iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and Android tablets. Tablet devices receive a layout optimized for larger screens.

Can I reset my streak?

Yes. You can choose a new starting date and optionally record what happened. Your previous streak is preserved in your local history so you can continue learning from your progress.

Does resetting my streak erase my check-ins?

No. Resetting the streak begins a new streak but does not automatically erase your previous check-ins or completed streak history.

Can I change my tracker settings later?

Yes. You can change your tracker category, start date, goal, reason, reminder time, and notification preferences from Settings.

Can the app send reminders?

Yes. You can enable a daily check-in reminder and milestone notifications. Notifications must also be permitted in your device settings.

Why didn’t I receive a notification?

Confirm that notifications are enabled both inside the app and in your device settings. Battery-saving features, Focus modes, and notification schedules may also affect delivery.

Can I share my milestones?

Yes. The app can create a shareable achievement image for an unlocked milestone. Sharing is optional and initiated by you.

Does the app contain advertisements?

Yes. The app may display advertising content. Tapping an advertisement may open an external website or another app.

Does the app use analytics?

Yes. Limited analytics may be used to understand app performance and improve the experience. Private check-in notes and personal tracker history are not intended to be included in analytics events.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings and select Delete Account. Follow the confirmation steps carefully. Account deletion and locally stored tracker data are separate, so review the displayed instructions before continuing.

How do I erase all local tracker data?

Use the data-deletion option in the Privacy & Data section. This permanently removes the tracker information stored on that device unless you previously exported a backup.

Can deleted data be recovered?

Locally deleted information generally cannot be recovered unless you created an exported backup before deleting it.

Is Abstinence Tracker medical or mental-health treatment?

No. Abstinence Tracker is a personal tracking and motivational tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, counseling, or emergency services.

What should I do if I need immediate support?

Contact a qualified healthcare professional, counselor, trusted support person, or an appropriate emergency or crisis service in your area. Do not rely on the app for urgent assistance.
